2018 Volunteer Stewardship Dates Posted
Join the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance on one or more of our VOLUNTEER STEWARDSHIP DAYS this year. We meet from 9:00am until noon on the 2nd Saturday of each month, March through November 2018. We are working to restore a prairie/oak savanna remnant at what we call the “Hillside Prairie” on the old Badger Army Plant. A typical work day often involves removal of invasive shrubs and/or herbaceous weeds. We also engage in seed collecting, prairie nursery care, and even brush management around historic apple trees!
Here are our dates:
March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10.
In addition to hands-on field work and training, we generally allow some time during most of our work days to offer some educational activities for our volunteers.
Interested? Come to the main gate of Badger (on Hwy 12 between Baraboo and Sauk City, across the highway from the Citgo station) at 8:45am. We meet there, get an orientation, then carpool to the work site.
We look forward to seeing you at Badger this season!
