Large Crowd Learns of Landowner Activities at Badger

On March 28th, three of the four landowners at Badger gave summary presentations and answered questions about their respective land use activities at Badger to an audience of 45.  Among the speakers were Robin Maier from the Bluffview Sanitary District (pictured above and lower left), Alison Duff, ecologist with USDA Dairy Forage Research Center, and Randy Poelma, land manager for Ho-Chunk Nation.  The fourth lanowner, Wisconsin DNR, was unable to join us for the evening.

Alliance president Mimi Wuest opened the evening with a short annual meeting of the members to re-elect board members and review the financial report.  Charlie Luthin, Alliance director, followed the speakers with a brief summary of the status of the various lawsuits that are pending, an overview of the forthcoming programs and events of the Alliance, and he shared a draft copy of the forthcoming “Visitor Guide to the Badger Lands” being developed by the Alliance. The Visitor Guide will be printed soon and made available in late April.
