The Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance
Working for a New Future for the Sauk Prairie on the Badger Lands.
In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; we will understand only what we have been taught.

Volunteer Restoration Work Parties

Work parties are a great way to meet others who are interested in conservation, the Sauk Prairie, or the Badger Army Ammunition Plant.  It also presents a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Wisconsin's native prairie and savanna communities! Please join us inside Badger as we continue to remove invasive species from remnant prairie and savanna sites and collect seed for our annual fall planting!

HOW OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM WORKS For each work day, please meet at the main gate of the Badger Plant on U.S. Highway 12 (across from the Citgo Station). We will then proceed from the gate as a group. Due to access restrictions, volunteers must arrive by 9am and be able to stay until noon when we will return to the gate.

Volunteers should always wear long pants, weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes, and bring drinking water.

Activities may include cutting invasive shrubs, pulling mustard or other weeds, collecting seed, or creating a prairie nursery.

Please note that access to the Badger Plant is limited by leader availability and the Army staff schedule. Please RSVP in advance!
